hi...trying DTCPing.exe between xp & wk3..
xp connects with wk3 but vice versa is problematic
Error visible at MSDTC Simulation V1.9 window of wk3
-------------------
Problem:fail to invoke remote RPC method
Error(0x6D9) at ***@303
->RPC ping exception
->1753(There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.)
RPC test failed
-------------------

I have tried at Xp's Windows Firewall->Exceptions
1) Add Program (msdtc.exe)
2) Add Port (tcp port 135)

Suggestions are highly appreciated

MS DTC has to be made Network Aware. You do this through the Windows
Components installation. If you think you've done this already, make sure
that DTC is running as a Network Service and then check the configuration
through Component Services and make sure that the properties are configured
for Network security.

There is some documentation on how to make DTC and other RPC compliant
processes work through firewalls that basically set up both the server and
the client to restrict the available ports RPC can use for the callback.

This message,

"RPC ping exception
1753(There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.)"

Suggests that you have deployed this method, but restricted the width of
available ports to narrowly. You might want to open them up another 100 or
so.
